One of those places where the décor makes you expect good things but food doesn’t live up to expectations. Food is standard English Indian dishes and nothing to write home about. Portions on the small side given the above average prices. Service can be unbearably slow when busy. The Upper Shirley crowd lap it up because there’s nothing else in the area.

Excellent range of good food, served with charm and cheer in unexpectedly posh surroundings. While a full meal can be a bit pricey, you can eat family-style on the portions 2-between-3 and still have plenty. Communication with some of the staff may be a challenge, but after multiple visits we’ve found nothing bad on the menu. Try the Shashlik — a tandoori-baked skewer with meat and veg that’s inexpensive yet filling and fab.
