Dock O The Bay

Bistro style eaterie with an appetising and interesting menu. Sea-​themed décor is fun without being kitsch and staff are friendly and efficient. Food was freshly prepared, hot and delicious. Lunch Mains cost around £8−9.

A great restaurant to go to if you want a tasty and filling 3 course meal, with some nice seafood options.
The menu doesn’t have a great deal of choice but the dishes I’ve tried on there all look and taste great. These include the calamari for starters and the surf and turf for main (the prawns can be a bit messy in this one as they are whole cooked prawns). The waffles and ice cream really round off the meal in a delightful way.

A bit expensive, but quite a lavish restaurant for the market its aimed at ie the students.
Very nice though and the staff are great in there, drinks and food are damn good!

Dock o’ the bay is a little restaurant slapbang in the middle of Southampton. Its ideal for students who have a bit of extra money to spare. Its almost exactly inbetween the city centre and the university campuses. The food there is nice, however not anything out of the ordinary and the food is very overpriced for what it is.
If you enjoy good wine, Dock o’ the Bay is a great place to go to. There is a good variety of wines that are a joy to your pallat, a good selection of beers, a delightable choice of scotch, and they make a mean martini! If you are not somebody that enjoys alcohol however, the soft drinks are a waste of money as they are either completly flat or dont taste much at all.
Overall it is a restaurant where you go to see friends and enjoy a few glasses of wine, or a couple of pints of beer, rather than eating a whole meal.
The people who work there are generally very nice and helpful but there are some that are downright rude, and the male waiters are very flirty with many men that come in there, at least thats what Ive noticed the times I’ve gone there.
