Cargo

I’ve used Cargo as a sports bar a few times due to their tendency to show international rugby matches instead of Saints matches. While their rear of house projector is in their popular dining spot, it is well worth booking there for match days as the adhoc projector they use in the front is projected onto a sheet and unfortunately hardly reflects any of the projected image.
They sell Asahi on tap, which is a rare thing and fantastic for fans of super dry lagers.
The menu is decent, other reviews have said the same, but I can also affirm that it’s not inspired but it is solid food served at a decent price.
There is a B&B/Boutique Hotel upstairs which I’ve never used, but I did notice their guests seemed happy and the staff attentive.

Great Hotel with BnB feel. Quaint, picturesque hotel in the middle of town. Our room was on the small size, and our view through the window was nearly non-​existent as a ventilation duct was blocking the view, but the breakfast was amazing and got us properly ready for the day. If you’re plans are to visit Southampton casually (and not stay in the room all day), then this is a great place to set-​up camp. The staff is awesomely helpful! And maybe they have bigger rooms with better views, we’ll find out next time were there :-)

I went in here for lunch as I was walking past and it looked new. I must say I was rather pleasantly surprised, 2 courses was £9.95 (3 for £12.95) all day every day. The quality of the food and service was excellent considering this quite reasonable price.
The menu will not set the world on fire, there are no particually exciting, unusual or creative dishes on the menu. I had a goats cheese starter followed by confit duck and my husband had soup followed by risotto. But the surroundings were pleasant, the service was speedy and friendly and the food was very good.
It looks like it might become a bar in the evenings, so I wouldn’t recommend it for a romantic night out at the weekend, but very good for a reasonably priced, fairly tasty meal.
