The White Hart

Always delicious food, only down the road from me! Beautiful steaks, Thursday nights are steak nights there absolutely delicious and the chips are Devine! I’ve only ever had one bad meal there and I go very regularly. It is a little bit more up-​market I would say and a tad expensive but still affordable! Good atmosphere and lovely staff! Definitely recommend! Really good range of beers, ciders etc etc also!

Wow! (Basically). Went here last night for a Family get together, relations down from Norfolk etc etc, and my first time here.
Apparently it’s been refurbished in the the last few weeks, and I have to say I was mightily impressed. Good range of beers in a light and airy bar, nicely refurbished.
Onto the food; a small but excellent selection available. As you may know if you’ve seen any of my other reviews, my wife is gluten and lactose intolerant. The front of house was excellent with them providing as much information as possible, backed up by the kitchen to the point of changing dishes to suit. If you are in the position of dealing with dietary requirements you’ll know how difficult it can be and the White Hart score 10 for 10 for effort and results.
What else can I say other than DO visit this Pub.

The walls here are really thick, and the local myth is that this is where the castle used to be sited. Very interesting building if you like history, it is said that there are lots of tunnels running out from the cellar across the market place. Anyway, worth a look if you’re ever down this way. Busy at the weekends, not so much in the week.
