Pretty average Carvery. The meats were good and flavorful. The sides, mashed potatoes and stuffing were pretty bland. I’d try something else before coming back just to try something new.

First time trying the Toby carvery & I can say the Sunday roasts did not disappoint for £9.99! Have now booked a table at the Windsor branch for next month. We had not booked a table, so we waited around 40 Mins. The place was very busy on the Sunday and plenty of people happy to wait for a table just like us. We queued for the food, like canteen style and I asked for the gammon and pork. I thought I received a decent portion of meat, but only one Yorkshire pudding. You can pay £1.50 for an extra Yorkie and 2 sausages. I then added stuffing and the veg; sweet potatoe, mash, carrots & potatoes. I then went to the gravy station and had the veg one. I tucked in and everything was nice and hot. I didn’t fill my plate up as the veg is all you can eat. I thought I would go back to re-fill, but I was content with my first serving. We didn’t have room for dessert so will make sure to try that next time!

Perfect place for Sunday lunch! You can choose 2 items between beef, pork, Turkey and gammon. And there is a veg bar and you can have as much as you want.

On Sundays, I read that the common food is a roast, so my goal for Sunday was to find a place that served roast. By the time, we were hungry, we were near our hotel which is near the city of Slough, outside of London. The price for the meal was 8.99 pounds. We chose to get all 4 meats, which the meat carvers put on our plate. We got gammon(aka ham), beef, turkey, and pork. You also get a large Yorkshire pud, which is like bread but kind of hollow and flakier. You also get unlimited vegetables including cornbread dressing. They had brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, peas, and fried potatoes to choose from. Additionally, they had another bar area with multiple types of toppings and different types of gravy. The cornbread dressing tasted just like what we eat in the south. Everything we had was really good. For dessert, we had a hot fruit crumble pudding, which came with a huge jug of custard. It was the perfect end to this great meal.

Food was as good as I would usually expect from a Toby Carvery which is to say pretty good however the experience was spoiled by both the attitude of the staff and the state of the venue. Upon arrival you could see that the bar area was in an absolute state with empty glass taking up 80% of the bar space along with empty crisp packets to the point where when being served a drink the staff had to move down the bar to find an empty space to place it. The staff were incredibly rude and abrupt giving the impression that the only thing important was getting people in dining seats and out again to make room for more. And once again the dining area was disgusting with uncleared tables and food covering areas of the floor especially around the tills and staff areas. I would hope that this was a once off bad day and that most customers don’t experience this but for us we will not be returning to this restaurant.

There is a lot of other choices, including new salads, but I think that like most people I went to Toby’s for a Carvery and so that is what I had. There was a choice of 4 meats, Beef, Turkey, Pork or Gammon, or for the indecisive amongst us you can have any combination of these, including all 4. The sides which are all you can eat included a delicious mash, yorkshire puds, many types of gravy and veg and stuffing… and of course top notch roast potatoes. If what you want is a traditional British roast dinner, and lots of it, you will not be disappointed. And all this for only £5.99 monday to saturday, bargain! There are also vegetarian options, which include the all you can eat sides. As the sides are self service there was not much of a wait for food, and the staff were all really helpful and efficient. If I was back in the area I would definitely return, although I can’t comment on any other sections of the menu, if I went back it would be a carvery every time.

This was the first place that my friend and I ate whilst visiting England. I’ve since learned that carveries are food institutions and I’m glad that I visited one! This was directly across the street from our hotel and we were tired and hungry so we walked over. I thought the carvery concept was great. You don’t see things like that in the US. I found the food great. We had huge plates and ate every bit. I’m still not sure what the toasted bread portion was supposed to be. I regret not ordering a pudding for dessert. Our waitress was nice enough, although she didn’t check on us for water refills during the meal. I noticed later that it was the norm to be pretty much left alone while you ate so I can’t hold that against her. I appreciated that British restaurants take the tip out of the bill for you. I wouldn’t mind seeing that system adopted in the US. We meant to go back, but never found the time. I’d recommend the place for sure.

My colleagues and I were staying in the Marriott across the road and made the mistake of coming here for dinner. They specialize in a sort of all-you-can eat ‘carvery’, and while the price was inexpensive, the food quality was terrible. I tried the roast beef, which was way overcooked. Their«signature» yorkshire pudding was a crispy slab of bread, and quite stale. My colleagues tried the chicken tikka salad, which came with a bizarre mango chutney, but we’re pretty sure it was actually just a jam. I can not recommend this establishment to anyone.

Came here in November whilst staying in Langley for work. Its an all you can eat buffet. The meat is cooked well and is carved by someone. The yorkshire puds are amazing! The veg was ok, a little soggy, and the roast potatoes could have been crispier. The currys and rice were surprisingly well cooked! Theres a large choice available. The woman who seated us was very friendly and helpful. It was a Thursday night and the bar was running a pub quiz. When we enquired about it, she told us it had been cancelled due to lack of interest. However, once she found out it was back on, she came over and told us, whilst sorting out our bill quickly. The quiz was fun, it was a Family Fortunes style quiz. We stayed at the bar shortly to find that the bar had just been robbed of their atm machine by 3 guys in balaclavas brandishing crowbars! Welcome to Langley, folks!

This place sits just across the road from the Windsor Marriott hotel, where I have stayed a couple of times now before travelling abroad. The food at the hotel itself is ridiculously expensive, so last time I stayed, I decided to pop across the road. We didn’t get off to a great start We stood by the notice that told us to wait to be seated. After 2 or 3 minutes, somebody told us «just one moment». 5 minutes later, we were still stood there. Once seated, a drinks order was taken. Not a complicated one, only 3 drinks. They took over 10 minutes to arrive, and the place didn’t even seem very busy. The carvery deal is about £7 per person. A chef carves the meat for you, and then you help yourself to vegetables, potatoes, gravy, sauces etc. Some of the veg seemed a little tired and had been kept warm for too long, but this was around 9.30pm so I guess we were getting the dregs. Still, it wasn’t bad and the meat was all ok. At the end of the meal, we stood around trying to catch somebody’s eye to get the bill, but this was nigh on impossible and it would have been easy for us to walk out without paying. Eventually the manager saw us and I told him we hadn’t had the bill yet. He asked who had served us, and he shouted for her, saying«Can you give these people their bill please, unless you are paying it for them!» Long story short, it’s a cheap meal and you’ll get a bellyfull of food for much less than you’d pay at the Marriott hotel. Don’t expect great service, and the food may be of better quality if you go earlier than I did! P. S. Qype, why is this place in the«health & beauty» category? It is neither healthy nor beautiful…
