What did i expect from a café in the centre of an industrial estate in slough? Well actually the café was bright and breezy, looked cleanish and nicely decorated. Unfortunately the service was dire. I dont know if 5 minutes is usual for the counter to be unattended but i had time to sit down and turn my prehistoric laptop on and get logged on to our server whilst waiting. Then from the bowels of the kitchen the sullen looking attendant arrived. No apology for the wait, no smile just a mumbled acknowledgment and clipped question. If i did not know better i would have said there had been some serious tragedy that the girl had just witnessed. Sadly our conversation did not stretch far enough to find out what the problem was. The food was average, warm, not hot, beans on toast and a cup of tea in a take out cup even though i was eating in. Wont bother coming back, would have more fun eating my sandwiches in a morgue. Sterile environment could’ve been improved with some music, but that would have drowned out the drone of the chillers, which again, added to the overall ambience of the place. This is the place to be if you want to be depressed.
