Stoke Park Club

This hotel is just a top shelf establishment. It has all one could ever expect in the way of service and convenience with a mamouth amount of Ambience thrown in on top.
Breakfast is outstanding. Always have the smoke salmon and scrambled eggs.
Tea and scones in the afternoon. Played golf too. I am no Sean Connery but felt like it playing on the scene of Goldfinger.
Anyhow. Can’t say enough about the service and the staff in general. We are all stars there and yes there is.
Wonderful.
The Spa is second to none and being a tennis fanatic have often been to the Boodles tournament on the lead up to Wimbledon.
Anyhow staying there or not I frequent as often as possible. Good for them I don’t live in the UK or I would become the resident pain the ass.

Monsieur took me to Stoke Park Club for a special occasion late last summer. I’d spent the previous 4 months learning golf and practising on different courses but not one prepared me for how tough the championship golf course is at SPC! Having said that, I made my way around 18 of the possible 27 holes and managed to score a couple of bogies while we were at it. But by the famed 18^th hole where James Bond played Goldfinger in the film of the same name, both Monsieur and I were absolutely exhausted. The fairways are long, the bunkers so strategic that they’re harder to work around than advanced Sudoku, but if you asked me to grab my clubs and head out for another 18 holes at Stoke Park right now? I’d be there in a shot.
During our weekend, Monsieur and I also took advantage of the spa, where there’s a country club feel and indoor swimming pool flooded with natural light from an entire wall of windows, we practised on the putting green, hit the driving range and benefitted from a well-​appointed room filled with antiques.
Our continental breakfast in the Orangery was just right, the lunch on a picnic table overlooking the tricky 15^th hole consisted of fantastic BLTs, and the dinner we enjoyed at their fine restaurant was nothing less than Michelin star material.
Monsieur and I have now decided to get married at Stoke Park. Need I say more? Yes, it’s expensive, but some good packages are available, where you can try a little of everything that Stoke Park has to offer, so keep an eye out. In our view, this place is worth every single penny, and the staff are nothing less than world class.

Very english indeed! Very grand und total schraeg. Mehr englisch geht schon nicht mehr. Ein traumhaftes, feudales Gebaude mit Zuckerhut. Wenn man nicht wuesste das man in England ist, erinnert das ganze eher an das White House. Eine Residenz erbaut von dem Gruender von Pennsylvania und ausserdem dem Architeketen von Mad King George. Sehr sehenswert. Heute ein Country Hotel und award winning golf course. 350 Acres of Land. Englischer verrotteter charm. Hier hatte Bridget Jones Ihr dirty weekend mit Hugh und hier spielte Sean Connery eine Runde Golf mit Goldfinger. Sehr besonders. Wir wanderten ueber den Golfplatz am Montag morgen und mussten aufpassen nicht von fliegenden Golfbaellen erschlagen zuwerden. Golfspielende alte Knacker mit karierten Pump Korthosen und Bentleys es ist eben wie im Film. Der Teppich ist noch aus den 70s und einen Pott Farbe wuerde auch nicht schaden aber wahrscheinlich ist das Teil des Scharms. In den Zimmern gibt es Himmelbetten und riesige Kamine, Badewanne mit Loewenfuessen und kitschige Kronleuchter und roten Samt. You feel very special indeed:)
