Had a drive over to the dales this weekend and on a friends suggestions stopped of in Grassington. We had lunch here in the pub and the food was superb. I had a main of baked cod on a tomatoe. puy lentil and cerveche sauce and it was the best food I have had out in ages. The main my friend had was steak and ale pie and it was equally high standard and all prepared with local produce and on the premises which is ususual these days. The prices were very reasonable and the choice of wines excellent. I will be back soon for a couple of days stay for some walks and to sample more.

Nice and hearty little pub in grassington. They make the best Mushroom soup! At Christmas there is a fesival day here and santa parades through the town just outside the pub. The food is well priced and what you would expect from a N Yorks pub. There are other nice shops around this place that are worth a visit. Walk off your meal by going down to the river for a stroll. Park at the visitors centre which is a short walk to the villiage.

A lovely Olde worlde Yorkshire Pub, have been coming here for many many years and it has not changed much in all that time. Still has great ales, beers and bottled beers, wonderfully kept and reasonably priced. Good array of snacks etc, superb, home cooked and locally sourced Trout ‚(Kilnsey Trouot Farm) sausages, pies etc., Specials board and regulars, great Yorkshire Puds and roasts. Roaring fires and local photos and paintings. Drawings on the wall in charcoal/pencil may look like scribbles but were done by a great local character an artist called Neil(sadly no longer with us). These have been preserved and are of Neil himself and regulars from the 1970’s and 1980’s. Great social history. A warm welcome awaits you. This is a popular place with locals which is a testament to the pub as times are hard in the Winter and locals keep a place going. Have music nights and quiz nights well worth a visit on a cold winters evening. Park anywhere in Grassington and you are not far from the Pub. Seating area to the front of the pub on the cobbles. Parking for Hotel residents around the back. Have not stayed in the place as a Hotel so cannot comment on that aspect of it.

A perfect Yorkshire pub with great real ales and very reasonable prices. The food is great for the price and the staff are all local and friendly.

Sorry, just realised the map’s wrong, not sure how to change it. The pub is in Grassington, not Skipton. This is everything you want from a pub. Superb, fresh real ales from the local area, beautiful blonde bitter, really citrusy and tasty. Meal offer: two courses for £6 can’t really be beaten, then very nice standard priced food. Wooden beams, coal fires and so on. The only mistake I made was going there when the local young rugby types were in. I was accompanied by my thai girlfriend and a female Indian friend, and there were a couple of nasty comments, but if you’re white, you shouldn’t have a problem.
