On the FA cup trail I recently visited Sittingbourne’s Bourne Park. No, nothing to do with the sersis of award winning flims, but if they used it I doubt anyone would ever bother looking for him if he was found on the GPS at this non-legue football ground at the back of a large industrial estate. Home to both Sittingbourne FC and Maidstone United FC, Bourne Park is a small, but well catered for tidy ground which ample car parking(about 3 – 4 football pitches worth) and is located just behind the main stadium which I believe hosts both a choice over 30s nightclub(got to be worth a night out in Medway surely?) and a greyhound stadium. Back to the football ground. Don’t walk there the station is about a mile and half away and it is so soulless it would feel like an eternity. As you enter the turnstiles you will be behind a goal, there is a portakabin bar with Oranjeboom beer, bar snacks and toilets. Further round on that side is a smal covered seating stand. Otherwise there is more covered seating. Entrance for a match day depends on who is playing out of the home sides of Sittingbourne(the Bricks) and Maidstone(The Stones) but expect to part with £10 for an adult and less for concessions.
