The old waiting hall at Sheffield station converted into a great pub. Big range of real ales and foreign beers on tap. Very popular. Place has retained a load of original features with the tiled walls well worth the visit.

One of the very best real ale pubs in Sheffield. Right next to the station. Great selection of international(!) real ales, adequate space spread over several rooms. But because it’s essentially a station pub, it’s busy even during the day. Rustic décor, and a nice, long, impressive bar. Staff is quick and efficient. Highly recommended upon arrival, or before departure, from Sheffield station.

Why can’t all station have a little pub like this? Loads of different beefs for chose from. Ale for me and fruity beer for himself. Not a cheap as my local but getting the train to Sheffield just got a whole load more fun. When I went in there were just a few people waiting for their trains so not a great atmosphere. I don’t think this is the place to stay all night but a great place to meet people before going on. The staff were nice too.

Huge! With a beer selection to match. Pretty pricey, depending on what you’re having. I remember a pint of fruit beer being £5+. But a nice place with an ideal train station location.

Sheffield Tap was on my must see list during my Sheffield stay because I love local brews. So we went right here after arriving on our train from London. Sheffield Tap definitely has one of the best selections of beers that I’ve seen in the UK. The IPAs were good, although a bit on the weak side when it comes to alcohol content. I love the atmosphere, right there in the train station with the wood paneling. It was noon when we stopped in and the place was filling up. I would definitely return here in the future and recommend it to other beer lovers if they are visiting the area. 4 stars!

Sorry, it’s just not as good as Leeds Tap. It’s great that this bar is actually in the station though. The variety of drinks is huge and they are amazing and of great quality, but where this place loses out is atmosphere. I don’t really care about the period pieces and the old building. It’s not really my taste but it has character and I can respect and appreciate that. I can see why people say this place looks nice. I just don’t really like the atmosphere in here. There were no music when I came in, which was a huge disappointment. Music is something I NEED in a bar. The whole atmosphere felt a little too ‘old man’ for me and I wasn’t feeling the whole ‘commuter’ bar vibe, which bars near train stations are cursed with. Don’t think I’d choose to come here again. Leeds Tap has a much better atmosphere, and that is saying something because the atmosphere in Leeds Tap isn’t that good. Conclusion: drinks are amazing, but the atmosphere sucks and is too old man and is full of weird commuters.

With original period features from its previous life as the station waiting room(tiling, wood panels and fireplaces) this bar has a very large selection of draft beers and even more bottled beers from craft beer to extra strong Trappist ales. You have to access the pub through its entrance on the road as it’s no longer a part of Sheffield station, but the bar room looks out over the station. If you’re into real ales/Belgian beers/craft beer this is a great place to go, I saw a lot of very interesting looking drafts and bar staff were very helpful with suggesting drinks for us. This is a drinkers pub with no food aside from posh crisps and pork crackling, but you wouldn’t want to ruin your appetite for lovely beer with food now, would you?

Much more room than my local Tap, the Euston. A few more beers to choose from tooloads. Looks like a pub too, unlike the Euston Tap and a lot of modern beer bars. Supped something good from something like Knotts Hill

Very nice pub and worth a visit even if you aren’t waiting for a train. Décor inside reminds me of a continental bar in maybe Switzerland or Czech Republic. Good selection of drinks and quick service.

Amazing selection of beers, including the full line-up from Brew Dog. Plenty of seats and prices are spot on.
