Meadowhall Interchange is a small public transport station, built to serve Meadowhall shopping centre, it is on routes from Northern rail and Transpennine, it is often one stop from Sheffield, which means from Manchester Piccadilly to Sheffield, you can just get off on the next stop to save getting two trains, otherwise Northern Rail also go here. Bus services can also go from here, which means it is simply an «Interchange» rather than a train station, but still most good, major train stations have buses going to and from them, so it basically is just a term to make a small train station sound even better. They is about 4 stops here with trains mainly all over Yorkshire, to Sheffield, Huddersfield and Leeds, but still this doesn’t seem like a place to start your journey, with a lack of facilities inside other than what is in Meadowhall. The train station isn’t really staffed, so it would be hard to get assistance if you are attending with prams /wheelchairs /luggage, and the only staff I did see, didn’t seem willing to help passengers, rather than just stood together, sharing a laugh and a song. Overall, this is a nice train station to go in and out of Meadowhall from, and it is nice to see a station to serve such a large shopping centre, however for any long distance travel, it really isn’t worth going out of your way to come here, but as it does really help to improve access to Meadowhall, both long distance(Manchester) and shorter distance(bus journeys), I feel 3 stars is fair for this station.
