Just had a lovely lunch here! After a pretty heavy night last night, the hubby and I decided to go for a pub lunch, drove out to Ivy Hatch to here and had a great time! The pub is warm and nicely decorated with a big outside area for future sunny day drinking, we were warmly greeted by a lovely guy behind the bar, the food was great, served nice and hot and really tasty, I had pork and my husband had the 20 ounce steak! To his glee it was on a ’ one off special” board where a list of different single steaks is available and once they are gone that’s it! He enjoyed his steak and my food was delicious, his only critical comment was he would have like a choice of sauce,(we also had a whitebait started which was ace!) Then we went to pay the bill and got chatting with the guy behind the bar who is Portuguese, really great service, we will definitely be back soon and be bringing the family!

Visiting from America, the Plough was our local pub. The young owners were nice enough to accommodate us with drinks when we showed up before opening time. It is no longer so much a traditional pub as it appears from the outside, but more emphasis on the restaurant side of it. Fine with us, it was the only cooked food source within easy walking distance our cottage in the country. What good food it was, as good and wholesome as anything served in our ‘foodie’ neck of the woods here in the San Francisco Bay area. With cheeses like Winterdale Shaw,(they have their own dairy herd, and chalk lined cellar to mature the cheese in), and Bloomy Rinded Somerset Brie, it was a pleasure dining there.
