Great place. Nice comfortable atmosphere. Lovely beer garden, really nice sitting out there in the summer. Great food, but gets busy at dinner time so book or get in there early! Try the garlic bread, I promise you have never had a garlic bread like it !!

Pub on SW coast path. Very busy at lunch time so not very welcoming. Make your way up the hill and try some of the fine hostelries there. Much more welcoming.

Whilst staying at Seaton we were looking around the local area for somewhere good to have an evening meal and found the Anchor Inn in Beer. Eating area was very nice and the staff welcoming. Very good choice of meals and the ones we chose were excellent. Prices not bad and overall we were very satisfied with our evening. Would go there again if staying in the area, in fact I think we would probably try to stay at the Anchor Inn as Beer is a lovely little fishing village with lots of walks.

Just come back from another visit to Beer and a stay at the Anchor, I’m a regular visitor and know the village and pub very well. Beer is a magical place and most visitors will sing its praises along with the Anchor Inn during the summer, but not everyone realises just how popular it is out of season. Because of the area a lot of walkers visit and stay at the Anchor, the atmosphere is still good and friendly, better still they have an out of season menu which is really good value for money and goes through till March, £5.00 for a main course, excellent! Parking can be very difficult in the summer and expensive, however out of season there are more choices, less restrictions and a lot more space. Beer is a magical secret, the Anchor is great and it can be just as good in the winter.

On a recent return visit to the beautiful fishing village of Beer we enjoyed some lovely times in the Anchor pub. With the beer garden on the cliff top and a lovely view out to sea and across to the gardens I highly recommend. A great atmosphere both day and night. Beer garden is especially good for the Regatta week firework display on the beach. The food is very nice on the occassions we ate there. Gets very busy though especially at Regatta week. I love this village. It is unique and very special. A beautiful part of the world.

I visited this pub on a recent trip to Devon and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It is a little unusual in that it has a pub garden which is across the road from the pub itself, which means you have to be extra careful carrying those drinks out. The pub is nice enough inside but we didn’t stay in for long as it was lovely and sunny outside. It was a hot Summer’s day at the end of August when I was there and it was extremely crowded. It was very unusual to see but there was a hog roast in the garden which very quickly sold out. We had lunch here, we sat outside in the garden and enjoyed the view of the beach and the sea. I had scampi and chips and it was delicious. The drawback though, was that because they were so busy there was always a long wait for another drink or to get the food. But the views from the garden meant we didn’t mind the wait, we just felt thoroughly relaxed. Well worth a visit if you’re ever in Beer.
