Well we did it, we ditched the BBQ plan and went back to The Crooked Billet for Sunday Lunch and it was glorious. We couldn’t resist the same starters as before– the smooth and seriously flavoursome Chicken Liver Parfait, along with the warm cheesy feast that is the Goat’s Cheese Salad. Boyfie had the classic beef Sunday lunch and I had the slow roasted lamb. The portions(especially the lamb) were significant and everything on the plate was cooked with care and competence… all this served up with smiling, cheerful, attentive, excellent staff. Bravo. Bravo. Bravissimo :) It was a shame we were in a hurry so desert will have to wait for next time, but I was treated to a desert of the soul when I was offered two beautiful, bright, dizzyingly fragrant yellow roses from the garden as a thanks for adding the business to Unilocal! Warm fuzzy feelings of extreme happy? You bet :) Make time for The Crooked Billet, go enjoy a walk then spend some quality time eating superb food in the friendliest pub you could ever wish for. Just a tip– Sunday’s are busy so it may be worth booking, although you can eat in the bar or even outside.
