This place was recommended to me by a random passer — by I’ve asked for help. The restaurant is on 3 levels: the outside deck, the«conservatory» and the inside. I sat in the conservatory to enjoy the view but not the fresh air. Had the catch of the day and my partner the seafood linguine 5 minutes before the kitchen closes(they could’ve said no but didn’t) my partner taught the barman how to make an Antilles«ti ponch» which the barman happily tried and liked. The staff is as amazing as the food was. By far the freshest fish I’ve had in ages and the linguine is TODIEFOR.

Serviceable beachfront boozer. Nice pint of Ringwood Old Thumper, generic pub food available. Big windows give a lovely view of the sea. Obviously gets busy in the Summer season. Just as when you see a «don’t walk on the grass» sign you know what used to happen to the lawn, this rather gives the game away: «Shirts and shoes must be worn past this point».

Situated directly opposite the sea-front, you can hear the waves crashing while enjoying your food in the patio and large conservatory-style area at the front of the building. With the building extended frontward in this manner there’s a great view through all the glass windows, however it gets very, very hot like a green house — good job all the windows open. The interior design is interesting too, with the walls adorned with various marine related artefacts and decorations. If you’re considering the Ocean Deck, I’d highly recommend going on the Sunday for the Carvery. Booking in advance is key, and be prepared for it to get rather busy, but the price and quality of the food makes it all worthwhile. With three or four different meats on offer, we usually have single slice of each, there’s one member of staff that had make a sarcastic comment once or twice at this request, but it’s a very standard request at carveries nationwide, and everyone else is very friendly. Delicious Yorkshire puds too!
