Not from the U.K. but this was a perfect stop after visiting Stonehenge. Our meal was wonderful, service was great and the atmosphere was charming. I would definitely recommend.

The Wheatsheaf is very much a food pub with very few people there for just a drink. Whilst it is a chain pub do not let that put you off as the pub building is really very nice and the food is not recognisable as chain pub food — it exceeds that standard by a mile. We went here for dinner on a Sunday night and the food and service were very good. The staff which received us on entering the pub were friendly, attentive and helpful. The Buffalo wings to start were excellent and if you’re feeling really hungry get the portion to share for one as you will still want more! For main I had the cob chicken salad which was perfectly presented and tasted excellent with good fresh ingredients. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was very good and sweet enough to give me a sugar rush around my eyes with every mouthful… Perfect! The only complaint I would have is that the ice cream with my pudding was quite melted but to the credit of the chef his passion for high standards was apparent to all as he came charging into the dining area to give a telling off to the waiting staff for not being quick enough in delivering my pudding thus allowing the ice cream to melt.(I was offered a replacement but declined as it was not too bad). All in all an excellent meal and I will be back soon.

A good location, but the food is lacklustre at best. It is a chain pub and the food is from a central commissary.
