This has been our local curry house for over 5 years now and a definite «go-​to» when we’re in the mood for something spicy & local.
A great menu covering both the «usual suspects» (korma, jalfrezi, rogan josh etc) and actual dishes (highly recommended). On quiter nights the chef will come up, chat to you and make you pretty much whatever you want.
The chilli & tamarind dipping sauce is a thing of beauty and unmissable.
Large portions so you won’t need a rice & bread per person, much better to get a selection for the table.
Good cold lagers on tap and a very well priced (but not amazing) wine list, I’d stick with G&Ts and beers.
Great friendly service.
All in all pretty much exactly what a local curry house should be.

If you live even remotely close to this restaurant, go there! I chose a salmon dish from the concise and interesting menu with mushroom pilau rice and a garlic nan. The latter had sliced onion and garlic sprinkled over instead of the baked form. The salmon was juicy and tender with a gorgeous sauce and chives laid on top. Pretty as a picture! The chef introduced himself beforehand, and asked what I thought afterwards, which was a lovely touch. If I’m in the area again, I’ll be back!
