I’ve walked past here many times but never noticed this coffee shop, but I’m glad a friend suggested we visited. It’s cosy and snug with a comfy sofa and the gingerbread latte with soya milk was delicious and inexpensive. They have a good selection of cakes for dietary requirements, though sadly none for multiple requirements.

I’ve only grabbed a coffee from here in passing, but it seems like a pleasant unassuming coffee shop in the Sale village.

Fresh Filling is a good option if you are ever in Sale for lunch. The place itself is nice with leather sofas and wooden tables. The service is also incredibly friendly. There is an excellent choice of sandwiches, toasties, omelettes, smoothies and cakes to choose from and I like the fact they have their menu written on a chalkboard. Service is also quick especially if you are in a rush to get back to the office. However I feel that the produce they use could be of a higher standard. The bread they used for my tuna melt was a little bit dry and the cheese really salty. The mixed fruit smoothie was lovely though. I’m sure if I went for a cake and a coffee it would have been better as they look very good.

As it was an uncharacteristically warm and sunny day last Saturday I decided to escape the confines of the flat and go for a wander into Sale town centre. Alas, I won’t be doing any shopping there anytime soon, as sadly the choice is lacklustre to say the least. Anyway, wandering up the ‘high street’, across the road, over the canal and past the Town Hall I stumbled across Fresh Filling café. Popping inside to see what they had to offer, I was greeted by the friendly staff and perused their specials boards, opting for an Earl Grey and a sizeable brownie made with Galaxy chocolate — total = £3.10. Sat myself in the sun-trap in the front bay window and happily slurped and munched my way through my order(table service was in effect). All in all a thoroughly lovely and local place to stop for a cuppa and cake. Tip: They have free wifi, just ask the staff for the password.
