The Pudding Stop started out as a dessert-​filled mobile van outside Platform 4 at City station. Johnny would cut generous portions of New York cheesecake and brownies for the commuters returning from London, instantly brightening their day.
Their popularity meant they finally opened a shop in the town centre. Here they can offer even more tasty homemade puddings — crumbles, tarts, cakes and loaves — washed down with a pot of tea, coffee or milkshake. The setting is really cosy. I came with friends for a cake before a night on the tiles, but we couldn’t tear ourselves away from the comfort food and boardgames.
