Shoulder Of Mutton At Blackheath

I love local pubs, theres not too many left in blackheath but the Shoulder Of Mutton (at Blackheath ;))
Only small and is full with the same people everyday, open til closing. Small beer garden, feels a little compact.
The problem with these bars is that i never seem to feel welcome, almost like they don’t want to serve me but this place isn’t too bad.
They do those little sandwiches in cellophane and they always taste fresh after a few beers.

In the West Midlands alone there’s a fair few pubs called the Shoulder of Mutton. This particular one helps make itself known by tagging the very helpful ‘At Blackheath’ onto the end of its title.
This is the kind of pub where everyone knows everyone else — except me. However, I was made to feel welcome and sat reading the paper and listening to a conversation about a poor bloke who’d fell down a hole a few weeks previously.
It’s a pretty small but well kept bar which doesn’t serve any cask ale but has smoothpour bitter and mild. There are freshly-​made cheese and onion and ham baps sat clingfilmed behind the bar, which only cost a quid. I had a cheese and onion (spring onion) one and it was delicious.
There’s also a few benches out the back for your beer garden/​smoking area, a pool table and a big tele. All in all, a decent local boozer.
