Mangal Meze recently opened up in Romford and I was dying to try it out. At the moment, the place is a cash-​only restaurant, but I hope they fix this in the near future.
Food: My friend had the mix shish dinner of chicken and lamb, which looked very appealing. I ordered the lamb shish dinner. Overall, the food was well seasoned, but slightly generic. I only wish they put a bit more effort in plating because, although filling, the plates looked a bit empty when they brought it to us.
Atmosphere: I don’t know what to make of the atmosphere. The décor was random and had no theme. Black and White floor tiles make me think of a café or a dinner, but then they put up various paintings of elephants, flowers, gardens (things you’d see at a doctor’s office). I couldn’t stop staring. For a new opening, I was rather surprised our table was wobbly.
Service: The waitresses were very nice and attentive. They kept the pita bread coming.
