Called in at lunch time for a business meeting and meal.
The lunch time menu is largely sandwiches, with a few standard pub grub dishes, we chose fish and chips and a Caesar salad. The food took a long time to arrive, and when it did was fairly unremarkable. The Caesar salad had plenty of Parmesan, but the salad was wilted, tired and the whole dish seemed oddly fishy, presumably from the anchovies but somehow it didn’t seem to taste nice.
The barmaid was helpful and friendly, seated us and got us drinks from the bar, but the food was disappointing.

Friendly warm pub.
Reasonable selection of beverages fairly priced. I’m not an expert on ales but they have a Cask Marque so it must be good. Food is your average pub fair and certainly nothing to complain about.
Quiz night on Tuesday night is a lot of fun and popular with locals.
Live music seems to be on the first Saturday of the month.
They have a cosy open log fire so in the winter you will come out smelling of wood smoke.
