Pleasant room downstairs: busy and minimalist. Menu could benefit from more options than chicken and one minced lamb. The mixed ‘meze’ appetisers were tasty and good. Service was spotty, and on the dot of 9pm the waitress hung up her apron and left, leaving an order unfulfilled. Better than a kebab take-away; not as good as it could be. Dial it up a small notch and it would be good.

A pleasant sub-ground level establishment in the centre of Richmond. Food and service were both good when I visited, but not sufficiently memorable in any respect to rate better than a middle-of-the-road 3*. And pricing on par of the location. On the other hand, I’d be perfectly happy to go back.

This is a very good Persian for the uninitiated to start their experience with! In terms of service and food testiness scale, you can expect everything you’d get from other more ‘traditional’ Persian restaurants like Persian Palace, or Behesht; but portions sizes are more normal here(designed for the average bear), and slightly more expensive. Definitely worth a try. I think to compare Saffron with the others, I would describe it as more… refined.

Came here the other day with my coworker. I’ve never had Persian food but thought I’d give it a try. It’s a fairly small place(unless there was more seating upstairs) and so the acoustics can be quite loud. When we got there, there were 3 American college girls. They were loud as hell and extremely annoying. I felt a bit embarrassed since I’m from the states and here for some work. Once they left, things got a lot better. Our waitress started off a bit cold but soon warmed up and was great the remainder of our time there. As a starter, I ordered the Dolmeh which were vine leaves stuffed with rice and herbs. The rice was cooked well and the herbs were perfect. My main course was Kabab Koobideh. It was 2 minced lamb kababs with steamed rice and a grilled tomato. It was delicious but watch out for the after taste you’ll have the remainder of the day. I thought this place was pretty great, but again, I’ve never had Persian. Therefore, I have nothing to compare this place to. I would recommend giving this place a try though.

This place is located in a very convenient location in Richmond. The inside is sharp and nice and quite aligned to the local clientale. The waitress have always been fantastic and the staff is helpful. I think the food is quite expensive(aligned to the local clientale). In general food is very tasty. What I did not like about their food is that it is very oily. I would encourage you to check out this place.

I have never had«Persian» food before so it was with excitement that I went to Saffron to discover what they had to offer. From the outside it looks inviting and cheerful and I entered into a modern and airy restaurant to join my friends. As I was late, I quickly sat down said hi to everyone and had a menu thrust into my hand so that I could catch up and order. Not having a clue about the food, I threw the menu on the table and signalled for a waiter to come over and help me. He guided me through guiding me a little detail of where the menu and ancestry had come from and asked me what sort of thing I liked. I cannot remember what I had but it was all good, in the end we all ended up sharing each others and it added to the dinner for me. A bit of kebab type stuff and a bit of someone’s lamb, a bit of stew and plenty bread to soak up the juices. I will be going back and I will order myself and I will find out a bit more about the food… And I will share with everyone else again it was really good.

Disappointing!!! I cannot believe I actually went to Saffron, wasted my time and spent my money! for a start, the waitress was extremely rude and she was eager to clear our table before we had finished our food. When the food finally arrived after a loong wait, it appears that the food was not even cooked. The food that actually was cooked tasted of too much salt. I am disappointed with Saffron but mostly with my self for actually wasting my time! Pro’s: Catchy name Con’s: Everything you can think of!
