What the hell happened to Reiss? There was a time when I could come to Reiss and be surrounded by so many clothes I found interesting, well made and irresistible! However it feels like for the last three or four years, that those days are long gone… It does not escape my attention that the quality and style of the clothes that are made for men here, have progressively gotten worse and worse since Reiss started producing clothes for women. The more that they boost their profits and focus their attention on their womenswear lines(which I’m sure sell faster and in higher quantity quantities than the menswear) the more they seem to have given up and forgotten about how great they were for men’s clothing. It is so frustrating to go into what was my favourite clothing shop with a fistful of cash and see absolutely nothing in the whole place that catches my imagination enough to buy it. Pretty much all of the suits that I have bought recently were from Reiss. Now not even such a standard item as a suit seems to be any good from here. I really do not know what they are playing at! The layout and design of the Reese stores are still too high standards and the locations are all very good. But I can’t help but feel that this is a knock on from them expanding their womenswear business and carrying the menswear along for the ride now. Where once all of the menswear was on the main floor just as you come in, it is now tucked away in either the basement or the top floor of all of the Reiss stores. I don’t blame Reiss for this type of commercial decision. I think I would do the same thing if I had the opportunity to expand the profits and grow my business. But it is disappointing that they give up so easily on the quality of the menswear lines. I can deal with having the men’s clothes tucked away out of sight in the store as long as they are of a really good quality. This particular store has been one that I have made many purchases from in the past. I guess even the sales assistants on the menswear floor have given up to because I was there for over 20 minutes looking at each item within the store and not once was I approached by any of the sales assistants to ask if I needed any help or assistance. I really do hope at some point that Reiss do get it together and have someone look at the quality and design of their menswear lines. I really do miss the quality and interesting design of the Reiss clothes… Just like all of the ones that pack my wardrobes, having been a fan for the last 15 years.
