This is a standard chain café. Food and drinks are of reasonable quality but surroundings could be much cleaner.

Treated by my sister to whatever of my choice so opted for the eclaire. It was good but a bit too chocolate-y for me. Their sandwich mix is good. The ham is heavenly in a nice fresh bread! Floors could be cleaner !

Lovely French café with a wide selection of pastries and baguettes. Yes a chain branch — but it does work. It is always busy and so although not directly in the heart of Richmond, people are still walking to buy treats. Staff have always been very friendly when I have been and the selection of food is very very tempting.

These little chain eateries remind me of an upscale starbucks with a lot more to choose from! I’m not a coffee or sweets person, but I just couldn’t resist their lemon tart. It was heaven! I love the little pastry boxes they come in.

for take away: the waiter needs for ever until he puts all what you want to order together and may miss something you have already told him 3 times and you can end up either with more than what you wanted or with less or with something missing, while the staff at the Kingston does a better job. Canelle is pretty tasty, the same goes for Le Fraisier, and the bread whatever you choose is fantastic the Millefeuilles are pretty average and Croissants are quite good.

A wonderful French bakery /café no more than two hundred yards from Richmond train station. Great for a mornings coffee & pastry while reading the paper. Their cakes are on the pricey side but are worth it for that special occasion.

Paul is an example of a chain that works. It does it by consistently good quality food, in a lovely atmosphere and surroundings and this branch in Richmond is no different. It has a reasonable number of seats and tables in store and the normal range of patisserie food and drinks. I would definitely recommend the soups(when in stock) and the desserts are great. Staff are efficient and reasonably friendly. The only(minor) downside is that this is not in a pretty part of Richmond.
