I work close to here so I’ve been on a quest to try all of the takeaway restaurants close to the office. Golden Palace is an obvious place to check out since it’s on a block with 2 other takeaway restaurants and we all need takeaway Chinese food every once in a while(however bad it is). Golden Palace was about as expected for Chinese takeaway. I got some black bean chicken thing. It was okay — nothing exceptional but tasted pretty good. They put the chicken right on top of the rice in the same container though — that made the rice all soupy from the sauce. I think most people would prefer if the rice were kept in a separate container so that it could maintain its texture or if they invested in containers that allows separation of the rice and main dish. Also I was a little bit annoyed that they said they didn’t have chopsticks when I asked for them. What kind of Chinese restaurant does not have chopsticks? I’ll still go here when I have Chinese food cravings but there is definite room for improvement.
