I’ve decided to give this fuller treatment and format accordingly. Would I recommend: ANSWER: YES. Plus also recommended to a person making an enquiry on Unilocal. Preamble: I sought two quotes. TH Developments were not the cheapest. The reason they were selected was due to alerting me to the fact that the lighting in the en suite was no longer the required standard. This was not explained by the other company making the quote. Add to the fact that TH Developments are covered by: Federation of Master Builders I received a revised quote for the labour cost, and the addition of a new shower unit. Work started w/c 27÷7÷15; as this coincided with my stepson being away on holiday and it’s his en suite. Work completed: 31÷7÷15. Workmanship and Professionalism: I found Tony totally focused onsite, and had parts arriving just in time for fitting. Some parts of the choices I left with Tony, as I simply didn’t have the time to visit showrooms for tiles. In the main TH Developments source their material from local suppliers. I hadn’t realised that they would be painting the interior of the door, and Tony explained the about the paint being used and why. The finish was a top job, and he also advised on keeping the shower unit clean. There was a problem from a previous leak from the loft, which was dealt with too. Customer Service: Tony did fix a few other things in the house, nothing major, just a light fitting not working in the main bathroom, turned out to be a loose wire. Then a leak mark on the ceiling in the downstairs toilet, sorted by a special spray, and a daub of some paint. It adds to the customer service as far as I am concerned. Summing Up: I was pleased with the outcome. I was asked if I’d be a reference for the master builders, but have had no contact. Turns out that Tony was able to recommend bigger jobs to be reviewed. Tony left me with the view that I would be getting an electrical certificate, however when I chased he said it wasn’t necessary. Apparently I don’t need this, Tony explained: «Electrically we replaced like for like therefore no required certification, we did add a new fan but this was added to existing therefore no requirement to certificate.» I find Tony to be a very agreeable chap, but wonder that running the business and trying to be one of the workers, makes him a bit forgetful. His work ethic is excellent, but like any business owner, he stretches himself. The obvious reason is that other people rely upon him bringing in the work. You can’t fault that at the end of the day. Just cut him some slack. The Only Niggles: He didn’t arrive on the Friday as agreed. Tony said he only goes out and do quotes on Saturdays, but I had discussed missing the school run on the Friday morning. There may have been a misunderstanding. Then another incident was when I arranged to meet him on the Saturday morning at the showroom. The e-mail I had from Tony was clear that he would be available, but he then went to Droitwich, and I was at the showroom on my own. It was sorted, but I did then explain my concerns.
