Oh look I gave workhouse coffee 5stars. Well Im bias. It is true we sell the coffee used to win the 2011 barista championships, we sell top cupping central Americans. Exclusive lots from Brasil El Salvador and Kenya. Not to mention off the scale Jasmine tea like Ethiopians with floral aroma’s. But Im bias, I work there!!!
Anyway jsut wanted to write and say thanks for the kind words I just read peoples input. Also I love the photo of Oxford rd shop, its awesome. Feel free to email us a copy whoever took the picture.

Easily the best coffee in Berkshire. Nowhere on the Oxford Road comes close in terms quality or class.

incredible coffee, well trained baristas, locally baked cakes, patries and bread. Great service, relaxed atmosphere. Worth the trip every time.

Another cup of great coffee and a very fresh pain au chocolate («chocolate croissant» in American). There are eight tubs of beans to choose from (Columbian, Kenyan, etc.) and once you’ve chosen, they are ground right then and placed into a one-​cup filter and hand-​watered into your coffee cup. It takes a little longer, but it’s worth it for a great cup of coffee. Ten times better than anything they’ve ever had at Starbucks and is even better than (heresy!) Dunkin Donuts. They are also able to make espresso drinks and I saw a milk-​art latte that was pretty spectacular.
The sandwiches and cakes are all locally made, including the most amazing lemon cheesecake. Yummy!
One star off for not having wi-​fi, but as I said in my review of the other Workhouse Coffee in central Reading, that’s not the demographic they’re trying to reach.

I have to agree with Ray, the Workhouse Coffee Shop is definitely the best place for coffee in Reading and you could probably extend that to Berkshire. Greg the owner has great pride in making the best coffee’s and in training his team to do the same. I am a regular most lunch times and it’s always a great break to have a coffee and a chat with really friendly people.

The Workhouse Coffee Shop (WHC) makes, without doubt, the best coffee in Reading. No arguements, no contest. Great coffee, great staff and great atmosphere and it is was the first place outside of Australia I have found that makes a Flat White (well it was the first place but have since found a second. Go there and you will never want for a chain coffee e
again. You can then also repeat the taste at home with the bags of freshly ground coffee you can buy on the premises.
