You don’t particularly have to be a big fan of Japanese cuisine to enjoy Wagamama, its menu is diverse. Go-to dish: Raisukaree For the appetisers I recommend their chilli squid and gyoza.

Great food and good beer. But the tables are shared and the seats are benchs, so no place to put your back.

Loved this restaurant. Fresh and tasty. Excellent pad thai! Just the right portion size. Great service! Perfect for a group of friends as the tables are nice and long and can seat quite a few together. I’ll be returning to the chain at any opportunity. The sorbets are awesome.

This is a typical Wagamama with bench seating. It is usually very busy at night and on the weekends, and frequently there is a queue outside. The staff are very attentive and I have never felt rushed. The staff try to seat people apart, but do be prepared to have someone flaking your left and right if it is a busy evening. My boyfriend and I frequently dine here because the portions are large and we are always happy with our food, mostly because we know we will be eating a lot of vegetables with the tasty noodles. As far as dishes go, I have never had a losing plate at Wagamama. The katsu curry is especially delicious, but I am also a fan of the amai udon. I definitely recommend stopping here for an informal meal if there isn’t a wait for a table.

I have a pet hate for poorly executed fusion asian cusine. Wagamama is a prime example of bland and tastless asian cuisine. The emphsis is on the brand and the décor, and not ultimatly the food, the core product! Very disapointing! As a last resort go eat in one of their branches otherwise do some research and go somewhere that will give you a meal worthy of the price.

Bench seating to squeeze in the people. This is a nice Wagamama’s with an eclectic menu. The different things I’ve tried here have always been most agreeable. Not hard to find things to eat either which is nice so it makes it an easy choice to go back to again and again.

Nice diverse menu of japanese dishes. Nice presentation also. I had the curry which was very good. I hope to go back again!

Asian fusion in a nice atmosphere. Enjoy the picnic bench style seating. Always seems to be busy.

I’ve had this Wagamama on my bookmarks list for quite a long time and never really been in the right mood for a high carb dinner until this past week. The timing and the food mood just haven’t been right until now. So I headed in, waited a few minutes to be seated. Bench seats with no back is an interesting concept and it certainly keeps you from lingering too long over your meal. The«Chicken Raisukaree» called out to me from the menu, so that was what I ordered, with a large Asahi beer. Service seemed a bit slow — I was just about ready to ask where my drink was when it showed up. And a moment later, my dinner. A large scoop of rice on top of a yellow curry with chicken, peppers, onions and more. I was a little disappointed with the quantity of chicken, but the flavor was there and I did enjoy eating every last morsel from the plate, pushing around a final piece of chicken so that I could get all of the sauce. For £9.75, I thought it was too expensive. As mentioned earlier, the seating doesn’t really lend itself to sticking around. So when the meal was done, I paid the check and was away. Would I return? Maybe. But I would have something else.

Have been here a number of times… food is always great, staff brilliant and you can watch all the chefs cooking the meals. Slightly expensive but there again it’s popular. They need to expand the menu a bit or change some things regularly… if you’ve been a few times you begin to have things you’ve had before. Like this place a lot. :-)

Quick, efficient, although can be expensive if you order extras, starters and drinks! Otherwise great food as expected from the Wagamamas chain.

Menu is a great western twist on Japanese style food. Go when its quiet otherwise you end up sharing conversation with strangers who can’t use chopsticks, mind you it makes great entertainment.

Based by the Oracle Riverside, Wagamama has become one of the more popular restaurants in this development. Seating arrangements are based on a concept of eating together, meaning you share a long table with other people. But don’t worry, you aren’t forced to talk to them! It’s great fun for an informal dinner but I wouldn’t take someone here for a first date. The food is very good and the staff are pleasant and helpful, however be warned that your meals may come out at different times. I have also ordered takeaway from here specifying a pick up time; when I picked up it was at the entrance waiting for me. If you wanted you would be able to eat straight away without going home, as chopsticks are provided and the packaging makes it easy to eat on the move. All round, a good experience!

First timer for Wagamama for me. The Reading branch is on the new canalside development, where every restaurant chain seems to be served. Wagamama is fun. Noodles, strange fiery tastes, deep-fried somethings, all eaten sat at bench tables, where the waitresses and waiters write on your place mats cryptic clues to your order. Tasty, lively, and incomprehensible.

My first choice for lunch every time. Wagamama looks a little like a funky school canteen with its benches and shared tables. It’s a little odd at first being plonked down next to a bunch of strangers, but you get used to it and get a chance to eye up other people’s food. That’s not weird, right? The food is delicious and filling, and I’ve never had a bad meal there. It comes out once it’s cooked, so you might find you’ll get served before or after your group, but at least you know it hasn’t been sat under a hot plate for half an hour. Visit if you love your carbs and your delicious side dishes.

The Reading Wagamamas is where I lost my wagamama virginity so I hold this place in high reverence. My only complaint would be that unlike most places on the Riverside, they do not have outdoor seating for hot summer days with noodles and broth and perhaps a slice of the special cheese cake to cool things off, or a glass of watermelon juice. All for under a tenner. very good for the Oracle, if you just can’t stomach a burger from one of the many burger joints. The staff are very friendly and not as eccentric as those you find in the London branches(not that that is a bad thing). Service is pristine as usual, and the branch is big and always bustling as it is the only one in Reading. Recommended after shopping. They also often have deals on buy one get one free meals!

I’ve been to this Wagamama a couple of times but I am not impressed by the food nor the service. The ramen I ordered taste nothing like it should. It is like a version of westernised asian food, with a funny taste which i suspect, we brits like. Having tried the authentic ramen, I am sad to say that I am disappointed with the food quality. The service is acceptable, but waitresses is not very attentive, so you may need to wave your arms off before getting served. the good thing is that Wagamama always offer 2-for-1 promotions, so it is affordable if you are on a tight budget.

Brilliant place! Makes for a fun informal evening out for food. I’ve been here many times and never ever had a bad meal here. I use the 2 for the price of one vouchers from on a regular basis and they’re always accepted with no question. Recommend — not for a formal meal though.

I love Wagamama. I’m not a particular fan of pan asian food, but this place has converted me. Once you get to grips with the menu and figure out what you want(the waiters can be very helpful in suggesting things) you can sit back and wait for the fun to begin. There’s no real convention to how your meal comes — side orders and main courses arrive as soon as they’re cooked and therefore some of you can be waiting a while longer than others depending on what you have. It’s never been a particular problem and gives you a good excuse to try everyone else’s food while you’re waiting! My favourite dish here is yasai katsu — vegetables fried in panko breadcrumbs and served with rice and a medium-spicy curry sauce. I’m not vegetarian or particularly keen on spice but this quickly became one of my favourite meals. The gyoza are pretty darn nice too.

The food and service can never be faulted at a Wagamama’s restaurant. The one at the Oracle is a good size. The layout(with the long tables and benches) can be quite strange as you can often be sat next to strangers, which isn’t to everyones taste. Pricewise it is often very reasonable with regular special offers.
