The Maiden Over has started an Ethiopian Restaurant which sounds good. We went last night but it was closed for a private function.(wedding !) There seems no point in producing leaflets and advertising literature when we go and find it shut to the general public. We will try again soon. Parking is good but they get outsiders parking and they go off to the shops ! One the 9th September we tried again and managed to get a table for two at 7.30pm. A nice girl Jess led us to the table and we ordered a bottle of Reisling. It came in a cooler and as we took a few sips we ordered a main meal which was a set menue. A number of receptacles stood on a long table so went up and took a plate each. We had an ijero each and then we covered the injero with a variety of items. Very tasty split peas, lentils, cabbage and potato, rice, and beef in a tasty gravy. It was a very nice meal and I finished it off with a well-made bread and butter pudding. It was something different and we both enjoyed the meal. There were a numberr of other diners so the restaurant was quite full

Following the refurbishment this is an ideal place to meet up with friends before heading to the nearby Waterfall Restaurant. A nice selection of beers served with a smile and always lots going on particularly on the weekend. The local bus stops right outside which is a real bonus. Hic!
