Do not trust this «bait and switch» wine club. They do not honor agreements, and will continue charging you for wine even after you decide to cancel the service.

Laithwaites really should win some kind of customer service award. The mail order wine business also has a couple of stores I believe although I’ve never visited one but the staff I speak to on the phone when ordering cases of wine are always sooo helpful. I’ve had some wonderful wines recommended. I ordered a case recently and one of the bottles was a bit ‘off’ so I called them and explained. Without hesitation they offered to either send a new bottle out to me or send me a voucher for the price. I accepted the voucher
and this arrived within days with an extra voucher added. They do regular mail shots and have some great offers on wine cases. The prices of the regular cases yes, are more than most supermarkets but the quality and the availability of different types of wines from often smaller vineyards really
is second to none. I use them on a regular basis and have never ever been disappointed with them or the service I receive.

Well, when we aren’t guzzling cocktails we do enjoy a good glass (now you know I mean half a bottle!) of wine with a meal or just in good company.
We discovered this company quite by accident through a mail shot and have now virtually completly switched our wine purchases to them from Sainsbury’s. This is unusual for me since they have a system by which they send you a case of 6 white and 6 red that they choose on the understanding that if, for ANY reason you don’t like a bottle you can return it and it will be replaced. To date we have had no reason to take them up on this and have, in fact ordered extra bottles of wine that we would otherwise not have come across but have enjoyed immensely.
Like all other companies they now bombard us with a regular supply of glossy brochures offering special deals on premier cru wines and fine champagnes as well as bin end sales and special offers from around the world. but you can easily say no and so easily be tempted by the quality and price of some of the packages on offer.
Whatever else your mystery case will arrive four times a year to be eagerly unpacked and stored wherever you call your wine cellar to be picked off and enjoyed.
