Handmade Burger Co.

I have been here twice and very varied experience depending on the chef and the staff of the day I guess.
There is a good choice of burgers including 6 veggie options which is great. I went for the chicken tikka masala burger in the end and my friend the Mexican beef. I must say mine was a very sad burger in comparison and some what lacking in flavour. The chicken itself was fine though.

The halumi and veg scewers, when they eventually turned up after I had finished my burger, were burnt. I don’t mind a bit of char grill, but I don’t think anyone is a charcoal fan. Having waited so long I didn’t send them back, maybe I should have… Even if not burnt they were a little bit small and lacking for the price.
Despite the disparity between mine and my friends burger, the burgers and fries were good. Perhaps just dodge the skewers.
There is a stamp card where you can collect up for free drinks, after two visits I’m at free drink level which is good. I had a buy one get one for a pound voucher which made our trip very reasonable. £21 for two burgers, chips, skewers and two refillable drinks.

Enjoyed this addition to Riverside. Burgers are made to order and there’s a tantalising array of choices on the menu. Our food took a bit longer than expected but the staff explained this to us and gave us free sides. Chip portions are massive so share a bowl. Similar format to Nando’s where you order at counter then sit down but it would be an insult to compare the burgers to Nando’s. This was much better.

We left the restaurant after being served dry overlooked burgers. They looked like those things sitting on the hot plate at sporting venue mobile caterers. Manager was a mongoose. Did not apologise or express his dismay at our disappointment. Instead lectured us about how burgers should be cooked. No thank you. Will go back to Byron who do juicy medium burgers. You spoilt our Saturday lunch treat. Btw the fries were soggy. No crisp edge. Perhaps the burger chef cooked the fries?

Upon entering the place reeked of GBK apart from the burgers, we ordered the Halluomi and Veg kebabs which I thought would have been starters and come first but didn’t, she had the regular cheese burger and I had their «Jimmy’s Cheese Burger’ which is supposed to be 3 week mature or something like that both with chips and 2 choc milkshakes.
The milkshakes were nice I guess and the burgers were average, the chips were actually like chip shop chips which was random, the halluomi came out after the burgers and was not fried just heated up.
I don’t know what to say on the quality of food really as it was just meh…
Bill came to about £37
Would I return, not likely.

Poor experience & quality! Queue to order. Slow service. Skewers burnt. Sweetcorn stone cold. Burger comes well done and flavourless. Syrups run out on drinks. Its basically Nandos but with burgers.
