I would dearly love to adopt a cat. I have had two in my life. One was Jason who we had when we lived as caretakers of a church on a busy main road and he was put to sleep two years after I moved here to a riverside flat. A year later, I had She-Ra who sadly went missing at 8 years of age. because I lived on a 1st floor I decided not to have a cat again, but now due to health the council allowed me to move into what is still a 1st floor flat but because the way the flats here are designed I have ground level access at one entry. I applied for a cat atCP after much thought and deliberation. I got a home visit and was turned down –the reason– because I live beside a river. Phooey! as I said I have had 2 cats and lived here almost 30 years, besides which we have a whole estate that has cats and a fairly new built estate across the river and they have cats over there as well. I was initially very angry with CP. I have since heard lots of stories all negative about these so called animal caring people.

These people are amazingly committed to saving cats. I am fostering a cat because I can’t commit to adopting one, and as a fosterer all food, toys, and accessories are provided to you. For adopters, Cats Protection will take back responsibility for the cat for the rest of its life, if circumstances change; and if needed, they will even take on vet costs. Great charity.
