Not really a typical Easter Sunday lunch, however the lunch will certainly be memorable. This is a fairly new South Indian family run restuarant. You would never guess the owners still work full time and run the resturant in their spare time with the help of their family. Open for Saturday and Sunday lunch, and every evening(except Monday). If you go for one of the lunchtime sessions you have the benefit of trying the thali(indian tapas). You are presented with 10 small dishes accompanied by some chapatis and boiled rice, and the opportunity to have free refills of any dishes you require. The vegeterian option included a dish with raw banana, and a courgette and dahl dish. The non vegeterian suggestion included a fantastic(but very hot) fish curry, a mutton dish, chicken and a prawn dish. You are provided with a dish of buttermilk to settle your stomach, and a very sweet but delicious pudding containing lentils and cashew nuts. There is little or no oil used in the cooking which means you don’t feel too bloated after eating all the dishes. A good selection of wines is on offer including some south Indian wines(we had the white which was pleasant, with a sweet coconutty taste). I plan to go back to try the full menu available in the evenings.
