Shenley Traditional Fish & Chips

Decent sized portion of haddock and well cooked. Veggie Singapore noodles have a good variety of veggies in them.
This is back up to a 3*.
We phoned ahead and got told ten minutes and it was ready on time when we went to collect. All freshly cooked.

When I first moved to the area 5 years ago this was an amazing fish and chip take away. The chips were always hot and freshly prepared and the fish the same and both were given in very generous portions. A few years later they introduced chinese food as well.
About 18 months ago the couple who owned the takeaway sold it for a more sedatory life and unfortunately it has gone downhill from then. The chip portion size has definitely decreased and sometimes aren’t very warm and taste like they have just been reheated. The batter on the fish isn’t the same either and is sometimes a bit slimy.
Despite this it can be very busy as it is the only take away in the village.
