Alter Ego Portraits

So let me set the scene. My girlfriend and I had done a full day of shooting and we were sitting on Alter Ego’s couch, a little warn out but happy for having done this fun, couply-​thing. And the lights went down and our photos came up and they were…
My god. Just… wow.
So, a while back, my girlfriend mentioned she’d always wanted to try being a classic pin-​up girl. So for her birthday, I went searching for a photographer who could do it.
I found Alter Ego, who are outside of London in their own studio, and the pics look fantastic. I bought a package which included hair and makeup done by a professional and a four hour shoot. We had to schedule and reschedule a few times (our fault totally), and they were totally fine about since we gave them plenty of notice.
We got there and my girl got into makeup. They had a great woman there who helped match her shade, show her some tricks and pic the right blend of makeup for the photos to come. She then got to go through the costumes and outfits to try and find something fun. We started with classic pin-​up but then moved onto film noir since it was a more couple-​type activity and the photos were badass.
I will tell you this, I went with her because she wanted me there and I love her. I bought the thing more for her though and I thought she’d go with a friend but she wanted to do a couple thing, so I’m nothing but game.
But dammit, I actually had a good time. Who knew. I got to post and look good next to my sexy girlfriend.
Plus, they had a Tuxedo and gun I could have and look like James Bond, so that’s pretty damn cool.
And then at the end, after a long day of shooting, they did a quick edit of the pics and they were… stunning. Spectacular. So damn cool. We were amazed they were of us.
I will say, the picture costs are expense. Woah. Maybe much much much more expensive than they should be for digital copies. But when we were there and we saw the amazing pics, we couldn’t resist. I guess you’re not really paying for the pics, you’re paying for the expertise of the photographer. And that’s just what we got.
Of course there is a different between pics from your phone and pics by a professional, but you don’t understand how much of a difference until you do something like this. Seriously, just wow.
