I can’t believe that after all the surveys that I have completed for Tesco the staff are still so rude. They spend more time talking to each other than serving the customer. It always seems like too much trouble or that I’m interrupting their chat. Every time I go to the lottery counter I am made to wait while they finish talking about someone or other. Read your feed back and act on it. We use the Tesco in St Helens as they are more helpful and polite.

An enormous Tesco Extra with all the bells and whistles. Clothing, food, electronics, pharmacy… it’s all there, most of it’s cheap and most of it’s good value. My main problem with it is that the staff are not well enough trained and don’t know enough. I’ve asked for certain items a few times and been taken on a tour of the shop before the assistant admits they don’t know where it is, or even if they have it. That’s infuriating. Also, they once refused to sell me a bottle of wine because I had a minor with me. I promised them I wasn’t intending to share the wine with my four month old daughter — but they were adamant.

Tesco Extra is a large store that sells a variety of food, drink and non food goods such as clothes, electrical items, cd’s, etc. There is also a pharmacy in the store, although Boots is on the same retail park. On a negative note, frequently I have purchased goods that are past their use by date and even a couple of times beyond their use by date, which is poor in the extreme(as well as illegal) and so staff need to be taught stock rotation or at the very least a refresher course. Although there is ample parking for the store, many people seem to happily park in disabled spaces, even if they don’t have a blue badge and the store is not concerned with this issue, as they state they don’t own the car park. Hopefully in the future either Tesco or the council will address this abuse of illegally parking in disabled spaces. On a positive note, there is plenty of choice, many of the staff are nice and there is also a petrol station.

This is one of my favourtie Tesco’s with a huge range of goods to choose from, friendly staff and good service. The music, dvd and childrens sections always have a good range. the clothes section has plenty to choose from and the food gives great choice at reasonable prices. You can even have your car washed here while you shop.

A huge store with a variety of goods. They sell clothes, books, DVD’s, electrical items, homewares & of course, food. There is also a Tesco petrol station across from the store by one of the entrances. The store is easily accessible by car or public transport. There are always plenty of bargains to be had. The staff are usually pretty helpful but I often find that the customer services desk is understaffed. The only other problem I have had it the rotation is stock is awful. I often find items that are very short dated or even out of date. Overall a good store with lots of choice but it’s a shame it’s taken so much of the business away from the main town centre but then if people in the town centre then the shops would still be open so it’s a vicious circle.

On the one hand, I detest how local government has given Tesco the upper hand and allowed it to take over the town of Prescot at the expense of the historic Eccleston Street, which is in steady decline. On the other hand, I can’t deny it is a good store with good prices. I regularly pop in there to buy some lunch — Honey Mustard & Chicken Pasta Salad(Tesco’s own brand, I think) is delicious! — and a couple of bargain DVDs. I often pick up movies for £3 or £4.
