Friendly staff, quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The food is wonderful(I particularly recommended the ‘proper chips’ and the fresh, local fish). This is good, hearty pub food at its best.

My last review of the Miller Arms was written five years ago so it was completely out of date, here’s an updated one. Although the Miller Arms is my local I hadn’t had a drink in there for about 18 months until I decided to give it another look yesterday. I knew it had recently been refurbished so I thought I’d check it out. It had badly needed a refurb and that is why we had stopped going in. OK, so has it improved? The answer is yes. All the upholstery has been replaced and the décor is lighter and brighter, it feels clean and inviting now. We visited on Good Friday and it was quite busy with lots of people dining, in fact there was only one free table in the bar area, an unthinkable state of affairs when we used to visit. Unfortunately, just like the last time we visited there was no real beer on, John Smith’s Smoothflow was your lot. I suspect this is usually the case listening to friends who have recently been in and I think they’re making a big mistake missing out on that market. The food from the bar menu looked good and not badly priced at all, I’d give it a whirl. The restaurant has a different menu I do believe. They are very dog friendly, in fact it was like a meeting of the kennel club when we were there! :-) I like dogs but my hubby is less impressed if asked to share his dining space with them and I think it could divide opinion in an establishment that seems to have food as its main priority. So all in all, my local has regained a bit of its appeal for me. I will probably start popping in from time to time again and will definitely give the food a try sometime soon. We’ll probably try and work on convincing them to get some proper beer on too! :-)

Called in at the Millers Arms yesterday on the way home to St Annes from day out. Not been for many years when it was a Beefeater. We saw the menu and decided to eat. The food was superb. Well prepared, beautifully served, and fresh and hot. We actually had to 2 courses for £9.95, and they did not skimp at all. We will certainly be going again in the near future now that we have found this service anmd quality. The bar staff were very pleasent and helpful, and all in all a very pleasent experience.
