Tiger Tiger Portsmouth

I’d give Tiger a 2.5 if possible. I was going to give it a 2, but then I remember it smelled really really nice in there so a 3 will suffice. Maybe I’m being a bit generous?
Anyway, Tiger Tiger isn’t the kind of place I would usually frequent, but Scott and I were in Portsmouth for the day visiting family, and we went to Gunwharf to have a little walk around.
I’d never been to Tiger Tiger before and thought it would make a change to go there. Upon going in, I noticed how nice the décor was. Upstairs there is comfortable seating, and the smell of vanilla flows through the air. You can tell that as soon as it turns to evening it will turn into a mating ground for all the singles of Pompey!
Anyway I digress, they had cocktails on offer so I ordered a Mint, Mango and Lime mojito. Served by the loveliest bartender who also happened to be the slowest cocktail maker I have ever witnessed in my life. And he made the cocktails wrong! When he started to make them again I almost told him to leave it because I couldn’t bear waiting so long (Scott came and checked on me to see if I was okay, I was waiting THAT long!)
Anyway after all that, the cocktails were disgusting. I wasn’t expecting premium ingredients, but they were just made so badly. I actually couldn’t drink them! (and that says a LOT)
Anyway, It was nice to go inside and see what it was like, but I certainly won’t be drinking a cocktail there again.

Lunchtime. Friendly service. Food was decent. Beer selection limited. Great location.

I know I am getting old, but the younger ones on the Hen Night did not want to stay. I couldn’t believe I was required to show id to get in, but it was Twice — joining the queue and at the entrance. Lacked a party atmosphere.

I found this venue an awful experience. It does not match the Tiger Tiger venues that i’ve visited in other cities. The staff have no manners and lack many basic human skills. I had a particular bad experience where i was assualuted at the club by another partygoer, yet the staff chose to quickly usher me away from the scene into the toliets. No member of staff had any First Aid skills, leaving it to my wife to sort out my injuries. During this period, the staff did not even try to approach the culprit who merely ‘ran away’ from the venue after my friend sought to call the police. Incidentally, there was conveniently no CCTV footage of the incident despite being in a prominent part of the bar. I agree that Tiger Tiger can’t control the mishaps of society. However they need to show more empathy and have processes in place to sort out such situations. Simply deflecting an unfortunate incident for the sake of publicity is not a good long-​term approach for business. Truly a horrific experience!

Oh i love tiger. One of the best student nights in Potsmouth, this being a monday and a thursday. Cheap drinks, good music and loads of people, what more could you want? I have to admit the layout was a bit confusing the first couple of times i went but it’s easy enough once you get the hang of it. There’s a bar on the first floor and a large-​ish seating area and a hotdog/​hamburger stand! Upstairs on the right there is a big floor and bar, not really a dance floor but if the mood takes you! Then turning left there is a small bar with seating, leading then into Groovy Wonderland playing a good selection of cheesy music. Off this room then is the club playing more up-​to-​date music and a VIP room (you can apply through facebook to get VIP).
This place is really full of students on a monday and thursday night which is great if you are one, if not, i would steer clear. The queues are more often than not huge at all the bars and it’s quite crowded in general but, it’s a club, so it’s to be expected and personally i love clubbing when it’s like that, much better atmosphere.

Not usually my cup of tea, but I went there on my sister’s hen party and still had a lovely time. We had one of the VIP areas and it was a bit like the bat cave. The music is fairly varied, and I guess different depending on when you go. There are a couple of dance floors which is nice because it means everyone’s not crammed into one room. We had a couple of platters of food and jugs of cocktails too, which were very nice. If you like more mainstream and pop-​y music, this is probably your place.

I visited Porsmouth and had one of my best nights in Tiger Tiger. There are many rooms, each being an individual bar, identifying itself with a theme different to that of the others. This is great as there is something that appeals to everybody and so a great place if you are out with a variety of people.
I did however find it an expensive place but as it was not a regular occurance then I enjoyed it as a treat and experiencing a place and atmosphere that was just a little above the others.

The restaurant here has a large selection of food. I ate here on a weekend lunchtime and was surprised to find it was not too busy. We got a table straight away and ordered food and drinks quickly from the friendly waitress.
The food arrived quickly and we were all very pleased with our choices. Their new lunchtime menu that starts at £5 is very extensive and has something for everyone.
This is a really good place to have a quiet lunch with friend’s with a lovely view over the water to Gosport.

I dont like how many steps there are in night clubs, the music is good but the drink prices are very high and very croweded

I love Tiger tiger. It’s laid out on two floors. Downstairs a chilled out quiet bar area and upstairs more hectic rooms for bars and a good dance floor. There’s also a restaurant which I particularly like. There’s a balcony which is nice to eat out on in the summer. It gets really busy and adds to a fun lively atmosphere. The drinks are expensive but are inline with all the other bars in Gunwharf quays. There is a good choice though. Christmas dos are fun in here!

Have had many a good night out at Tiger Tiger. When it first opened it was quite different to the clubs I was used to. It has many different rooms or bars and each has a different theme — so there should be something for everyone. My favourite is probably the Turkish looking one — with a swinging chair. I can’t say the drinks are cheap but that’s not what this place is about. They also offer food but to me this place is for drinking. very to hang out and people watch, or watch the harbour movements in the summer from the benches outside. Get fresh, get fresh — for the laydeeez tonight

It has been rather a long time since I lasted visited Tiger Tiger. this is because I have had more than one bad experience there.
I have been sexually accosted while trying to walk to the bar, and is it was so over crowd the person who did this was able to easily get away.
The music in Tiger Tiger is pretty good, and so is the location, they would score higher if I felt assured that they had tightened up their door policy, and were taking these kinds of problems into account and dealing with them, as having spoken to other female friends I know this kind of incident wasn’t uncommon there.

Le Tiger Tiger est à la fois un bar, un restaurant, une boîte de nuit. On peut y aller en journée pour manger au restaurant, pour aller boire un verre. Le soir la boîte de nuit est ouverte jusqu’à 2h du matin comme toutes les boites de nuits de Portsmouth. Le vendredi au bar, il y a un concert fait par des groupes locaux, c’est assez sympa. La boîte de nuit est composée de 3 salles avec tous un thème différent, ça dépend des jours Il y a des soirées à thèmes qui sont organisées; salsa, caraïbes, etc. Le truc sympa c’est pendant les longs week-​ends –Bank Holydays– Il y a un DJ différent pour chaque soirée
En plus c’est situé face à la mer donc la vue est super!

Bar, club, restaurant réputé et très bien situé à Gunwharf. Sur deux étages, cet établissement a une terrasse avec vue sur la Spinnaker Tower eu niveau du restaurant et du bar. Véritable lieu de détente en journée, le Tiger Tiger se transforme en club tendance en soirée. Le design est très soigné et moderne, avec des ambiances changeantes selon les pièces, le coin VIP, le bar lounge, l’underground, le restaurant. Et mesdames soyez rassurées: les vestiaires sont grands, pas chers et bien gardés!
