Anchor Seafoods

Anchor Seafoods is situated on the end of Portree pier in the beautiful Isle of Syke. When my boyfriend and I were travelling around Scotland earlier this year, were had fantasies of cooking freshly caught seafood on the beach. Armed with our trusty gas stove, we searched the island before stumbling across Anchor Seafoods at the end of the pier.
It was closed when we first approached it — were we to be twarted at the final turn??! No, we popped back 15 minutes later and the lovely lady had returned and we were able to peruse a fine selection of freshly caught seafood. The shop owner was quite charmed by my boyfriend, and seemed completely amazed that a Brazilian should turn up in her little shop in Portree!
The fish selection was super fresh and so appealing. It took a lot of resistance and will power not to walk away with too much, but we had to bear in mind we had no way of storing the produce. It was quite pricey but we decided it would be worth every penny. We settled for some scallops and prawns and headed off to find a secluded section of beach where we could cook up our feast and make all our fantasies come true!
