Tolle Atmosphäre, frische Theke für Fisch und Fleisch. Vielfältige Gerichte, lediglich die Pfeffersoße meiner Begleitung war etwas lasch. Sonst uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen.

We ate here a couple of years ago and I was disappointed to hear that it had changed hands but my fears were unfounded. It may now be described as a ‘Spanish’ resturant but it still had the freshly cooked ‘French’ dishes that we remembered. The dishes are prepared in a kitchen that is in view of the diners and the all the sauces I had were excellent. We opted for the reasonably priced set menus both lunch time(12 – 2) and evening which gave both variety and value. We had promised ourselves the a la carte menu on our last night but having three teenagers in tow once again opted for the set menu. The atmosphere was great on all occasions and the service very good. My only word of warning is the stairs to and from the ladies which are very steep, any one with walking dificulties shoud use the disabled toilet on the ground floor.

We were not encouraged by the lack of customers when we arrived on a Wednesday evening in December, but a few more people followed us in. The menu was table d’hôte, or à la carte, or tapas. We chose the tapas and soon chorizo, patatas bravas, mushrooms in sauce, calamari, fried parsnips with chilli sauce, olives and some very hefty fishcakes confronted us. A good meal at the end of a busy day, but more substantial than subtle. With two bottles of Sauvignon Blanc and a pint of beer, £68 for two people(yes it was a good evening!).
