The Local Pantry shop And Café

me and my fiancé have passed this a few times going back and forth to Yeadon. we decided to visit last week. its very easy to get to. They sell a wide range of yorkshire produce and fresh fruit and vegetables all reasonably priced. going to try some of the local jams next time.

I stumbled across this place after an aborted walk with friends. Driving past you wouldn’t give it a second glance, you’d probably think it was a run down petrol station — indeed it once was a petrol station — but walk past the fresh market produce on sale outside and you’ll find a smart clean café and shop.
All the produce in both the cafè and shop is sourced locally and there’s an varied range available (I walked away having purchased sausage, pork & Stilton pie, caramelised onion chutney and an interesting curry sauce).
The staff, who were very welcoming and friendly, are very knowledgeable about the food and produce.
I perused the menu whilst sipping a rather nice amercano coffee and eventually ordered the ‘Yorkshire Madam’ from the specials board; a Yorkshire twist on the French Croque Madame. It was absolutely delicious, the poached eggs were cooked to perfection and the mornay sauce they were covered was scummy.
If you’re in the area do pop in, I’m sure you wont regret it!
