I think, on the whole, we have a very good police presence in Poole. Although, as the saying goes, there’s never one around when you want one! In the High St, we have both the Community Police and the bycycled cops — they’re really good at preventing incidents as well as catching the criminals. I’ve been happy to see cyclysts get their fine for biking in a pedestrian way — there are far too many children and vulnerable older folk to let them get away with it. The events that go on regularly are well policed and the one time I had to dial 999 the police arrived in minutes. I’m looking forward to when there is less paperwork for the police to do, so they can get on with dealing with crime. I feel safe here, living in Poole, although using common sense there are a couple of places I would not go after dark. All said, I give our police the thumbs up!
