I absolutely love coming here. It is SO relaxing and the facilities for young children are varied and well maintained. The sand pit and open air swimming pool and water slide are a real hit with families. It’s a pity the buildings are dilapidated and need pulling down, before they hurt somebody.

Ynysangharad War Memorial Park. Now try saying that when you’re sober! This park is an excellent place to visit and enjoy the many activities they have to offer. You can bring the family down and enjoy the park area with a giant swimming pool and play area for the children. Or you could play tennis on the number of outdoor courts they have. Or you could do what I like to do; play on the pitch and putt golf course they have. I remember when I first visited the park and I was surprised by the size of it. It is a huge mass of land that holds all sorts of fun. I have to talk about the pitch and putt golf course. When I used to think of the word ‘Golf’ I thought of men in silly looking trousers walking for miles to find a little white speck on the floor. Then I actually played on the course and it was fun. You don’t have to know how to play golf because the courses aren’t even that long. All you have to do is pay £3.50 for two clubs and a ball(that price also includes a £1 deposit) and if you’re a student it costs a lot less. This was a great way to spend a day rather than sitting indoors playing pretend golf on the Nintendo Wii. If you are stuck what to do for a day then visit Ynysangharad War Memorial Park because all will have a fun day!

This is a wonderful breathing space tucked behind the main street in Pontypridd. There are big open expanses great for games and dogs. It’s home to the Pontypridd cricket club and there’s a lovely(disused) Lido(open air swimming pool). There are plenty of walkways throughout the park so you can explore little corners of the whole park if you’re feeling fit! If you’re a keen photographer the foliage looks beautiful in the autumn and even more so when blanketed in snow.

I love this park, its beautiful here and is a pleasure to visit. All the gardens and lawns are well maintained. There are two parks one for younger children which has a sand pit etc and a second for older children with big climbing frames. Its a lovely place for a picnic or to watch an event in the band stand.

A beautiful park set in Pontypridd Town Centre. It has a large outdoor swimming with water slide, a bandstand which often hosts musical concerts and a gold course with crazy golf. Also becomming a popular venue for concerts it has hosted The Full Ponty and this summer will host The Sugababes and Only Men Aloud.

I loved coming here today. What a beautiful little park just across the bridge over the River Taff from the town centre. There are delightful paths to follow bordered by lovely old trees. Lots of grassy areas, raised flower beds which are well kept and full of spring flowers. There is a play area for children with swings and climbing frames, tennis courts, and plenty of benches where you can sit. You can’t escape the sound of traffic in the distance but it’s still a great park.
