Great facilities.
Great views.
Walk on the tracks or get off into the bush.
Check out the rugby pitch or maybe the dry ski slope.
Great park for kids and a decent size skate park.

beautifull park no hesitation a park for all seasons .but!!! getting a lot of horse droppings up over the grotto area and now spreading to the lower park and walk ways. not only when the park is closed but getting them on the weekends. getting more like the ponderosa to me and its very irresponsible of owners to think the are allowed .dont set precedent

So there’s nothing to do in Pontypool? apart from being just a few miles from a World Heritage Site, this was once a thriving merchant town playing host to a variety of wares from all over the world taht reached Pontypool via the canals. Nowdays Pontypool park hosts a great rugby team and leisure facilities and bets of all a ski slope! — you can learn to ski or snowboard here at an excellent cost with gloves, skis and boots all included. Set high up in the hills above the rugby pitch you can actually imagine it is the Mont Blanc! the staff are helpful and laugh when I fall over which is quite often, not to be missed — take your children skiing this half term!

Large beautiful park with some lovely walks, Walk up to the Grotto, the Folly, Penygarn or just stroll around the park on the flat.
Home of Pontypool Rugby Club — on match days don’t expect to park anywhere near.
I have fond memories of Pontypool Park from my childhood. Recently revisiting I was alarmed to see they had cut down quite a few large beautiful mature trees. I hope that they don’t continue with this desecration as some parts of the park seemed a little bit boggy, probably due to there being less moisture taken out by the removed trees.
I certainly hope that ‘the powers that be’ take good care of this oasis of calm for the benefit of future generations.
