Archers Sleepcentre South — Good experience shopping here. Spoke to Stevie over the phone and went in to pay for a sofa-bed. Great staff friendly and helpful. What they say over the phone is what you get in-store. I only spent £150 but still got great service from start to finish. The delivery guy was great too. (Wouldn’t go to the Glasgow North one again, though.) I’ll visit Archers South from now on, for future bed purchases.

A lesser known bed shop this is a rare wee, well big, find. I stumbled across it a few years ago now, when my ex was moving out. In the split up politics I’d agreed to keep the hellish bed he’d MADE. Yes. And it gets worse. It was not a bed that sits on the ground. Oh no, this was a bed that was roughly seven feet high and sat a whole foot below the ceiling(I’m not going to answer your question). Kinda like a massive bunk bed but underneath it there was piles of his junk. Anyway, enough about the tree house. It’s now gone. Thank God. But, in the break up proceeding, I’d agreed to keep the bed(well, there was no way for him to take it was there?) and he was taking the duvet, pillows etc. So off we endued a strained car journey to this place for the purchase of some pillows, duvet etc. It’s a massive shop filled with a whole host of beds(as Eleanor has mentioned) and a good side selection of bed accessories including some sets of bed spreads and the like. The staff are pleasant, helpful and extremely easy to locate — something that is underrated. Meanwhile, the prices are reasonable and their products range from the cheap(and not so nice) to the luxurious. So there’s something for everyone and every price range. Give it a go.

Archers Sleepcentre have some pretty comfy beds, single beds, doubles, bunks, Silent Nights, all sorts. So if you’re looking for a bed then you’ll be spoilt for choice in here. I remember I used to work for a mystery shopper company and I once got asked to go here to do my nosey. When I first read the job description I thought that would be an awesome day out, lying on all the different beds to see what one was comfiest, then I read a bit further. My job was to go in, ask someone whether or not latex is a kind of memory foam. WHAT? Who asks that? I can just imagine some old married couple heading to Archers for a new bed… Bill: Oh that one looks nice, she’s a beauty. Margaret: Oh, I’m not sure… Do you think latex is a kind of memory foam? I mean, for the love of all things bed related, why would that ever cross your mind? I did contemplate doing that job for the giggles, as the thought of marching purposefully up to some unsuspecting bed sales person to ask that still makes me chuckle but I ended up realising that for the £8 fee it was probably more hassle than it was worse and I wouldn’t have been able to keep a straight face whilst asking that question, totally giving the game away. All in all, a huge shop, friendly staff and competitive prices.
