Don’t get me wrong-as a hood rat American who loves cheap booze, I adore the concept of Wetherspoons. In fact, it is typically my first choice for bars when going out drinking in the UK. This location was absolutely vile. Bartender didn’t know what a Bloody Mary was, they didn’t have hot sauce, menu was a crumpled sheet of printer paper, the bathrooms were FILTHY, and there was literally DIRT in the ice cubes in our cocktail pitcher. Dirt. I drank dirt. Do not come here unless you are desperate. I give two stars because despite everything being disgusting, I got drunk for £5.

Ideal family place and a good starting or finishing place for a night out, I have visited this place several times and continue to do so.

Inside this is one of the less pleasant ‘Spoons. Like Jordan(the sort-of-human) it is busy and awkwardly shaped. Outside, at the back there is a lovely large section of tables and chairs, including a couple of pretty water features! It is worth wearing an extra layer if it means enjoying a drink out there. The drinks? The usual wide selection, with its handful of decent ales. Like a reviewer below, I found the layout had little in common with damp cutlery.

Bags of charm, fine wines, wonderful beers, fabulous food and erudite company — but only if you’re recently been released from Abu Ghraib Prison. Smell the vomit and wake up!

this is similar to all wetherspoons with the level of service. because they have a high turnover of staff you never really get good service. the layout is a little bit different to moist spoons as its more glass than wood but it is a good place to eat if you are going to see a show at the pavilions or theatre royal.

You get what you pay for here. As long as you realise that at £1.80 for a bottle of beer and £2.99 for a main meal you are not going to get cordon blue food, or 5 star service then this place is for you. The food and drinks are very cheap, which makes this an exetremly populat and therefore busy place. Early evening is probably the best time to visit. Its not too busy but all the night staff are starting work so getting served is easy. Also the place still looks clean and tidy at this point! The beer garden does look lovely but does have a tendency to be just a huge ashtray.

This is a really large Weatherspoons, it is a little run down inside in places now but it has a completely glass front so you can see the world go by. They have a lovely Beer Garden, but as I have children I tend to sit in the childrens areas, these aren’t the best areas, you are usually shoved in a corner where there is no carpet and only a couple of tables(though the are a few different locations around the pub each one only has a couple of tables). The menu is really good, and there are always promotions like curry club, 2 for £6 etc. The childrens meun is equally good. The food itself is really nice dont think I have ever had a meal I didn’t like. There can be queues at the bar and at times the food can take a while, once we waited almost an hour and in the end we were given a free meal and a bottle of wine, so even if they do mess up they have very good customer services skills. As the evening goes on more and more people descend there for a cheap start to there evening so after 7pm I personally wouldn’t take a family but before then it is a cheap place for a nice family meal out.

Think this has got to be the biggest wetherspoons i have ever been in! It is huge! The place has 3 levels(one which children are not allowed one which is nice when you want a bit of piece and quiet), there is also a lovely beer garden which is nice within the summer months. The food is as you would expect for a wetherspoons, its nice and good quality for the price you pay. They almost also have some sort of offer on or meal deals. The kitchen staff are very quick and efficient, i cant remember ever waiting more than 15 minutes for my food — and thats on busy days! At night the atmosphere changes completely, especially on friday and saturday nights. It is not a family place — more of a clubbing place, but i love it equally so!

Huge place — used to be the BMW show showrooms. Both upstairs & downstairs, also has a beer garden for better weather which is nice & well maintained. Has separate family areas avalable Depending on when you go, service can be a bit slow, massive long bar, but not always staffed up as it should be. Food is very hit & miss but reasonable in price — the usual Weatherspoons offers being available Id say stay away in the evening if you are looking for somewhere to take the family. This is located on Union street which is Plymouths clubland & as such gets quite busy & fairly rowdy. You also have to pay to get in here in fri/sat nights

during the day this place is lovely, very good atmosphere, food isnt too bad and drinks are good with a really nice look to the place, it’s very enjoyable for a lunch. However, go later on, early evening and the quality of the food declines very quickly, it’s as if the staff cannot cope with the demand, which is such a shame, as if they could keep up the quality of food it would be a nice place. Friday and Saturday evenings get very busy, and the place can be extremely crowded, this doesnt make for an enjoyable evening and i would avoid if you are looking for a relaxing evening out.

Part of the wetherspoons chain. This place is massive and serves cheap food and even cheaper drinks. If thats what youre looking for then this is ideal. Its not too bad in the day time and early evening but gets a little full of lads on their nights outs in the evening, especially at the weekend. Still there is a nice beer garden, and if you dont care about fellow drinkers then its a good cheap place to go.

Yes it is very reasponable prices and the beer garden is lovely for sunny days, but realistically how many sunny days do we generally have in plymouth, or indeed england hmm — not many. I think this place is ok, if you are looking for a certain type of cheap and cheerful kind of meal or night out. The meals are not as cheap as they were and the place seems to be less popular than of previous years. The staff are often stressed of an evening time, and usually under staffed. The place on the whole is ok, very clean first thing in the morning, but if you are on an evening out you would find the toilets are dirty, run out of loo roll and just generally full of people that don’t care about anyone but themselves. It may sound a little snobby but i would rather pay a bit more and go somewhere better

I visited this place before a concert recently and was REALLY disappointed. First of all, we were overcharged for the wine we ordered, then we had to wait ages for our food order. When the food arrived it was cold! We sent it back, and had to wait ages again for more food. This time the food was cold again, and the attitude of the staff member who brought it over was quite passive aggressive Do you want to try it now? — erm, no thanks. not with you standing over us! Sent in an official complaint, and it took them 2WEEKS to respond to me, and the response was rubbish too.

I liked this place. Attractive glass front, seating split across 2 floors. Cheap food and drink, staff are nice. Beer garden for sunny days. Meals are excellent for the price. Recommended.
