Admiral MacBride

Not a great pub located at the end of the old harbour. Ok its old but the interior is just grubby. It had only one real ale on at time of visit Tribute :(. Sorry but its a must try harder it might grt some customers then.

Lovely pub that was a very busy and trendy place to be a few decades ago.
Nice and clean inside.
The potential here is so amazing it is untrue.
If a fantastic simple fresh English pub food menu was in place with just one daily special and a «different than the rest» approach implemented this pub would be heaving.
Great comfy friendly place though

This pub has a prime quayside location, but they make you pay for it (pint of proper job — 2.95).
The view from the window is good though and the interior has an old style charm to it too, full of naval imagery (as befitting its location right near the mayflower
fact the pub is apparently right on top of where the steps were originally).
The music was good (bob dylan, the knacks and many others). I could happily have dwelt a while longer were it not for the drunk army bloke from the nearby base who decided I might benefit from his hard to follow bitter ramblings. I escaped when he staggered outside for a smoke.
