Reviewing the café: In October, I had two lunches in this lovely restaurant. I had a ‘quiche of the day’ and a week later I ordered ‘Falafel’. Both dishes were cooked to perfection bursting with flavour. The side salads were mouthwatering, too. A great find, this vegetarian café is one of the best restaurants in Penzance. The staff were attentive and very friendly. Highly recommended.

Firstly the restaurant upstairs. If you want a reasonably priced vegetarian meal with no frills then it is fine. The food is satisfyingly filling although not subtley flavoured. Avoid the veggie sausages which are pretty foul. Everything else is fine and you always get plenty of variety on your plate. The shop downstairs has a mixture of wholefoods, cosmetics and quack medicines. Things like organic rice, pulses and grains are a bit pricey. The staff are a mixed bunch. Some are friendly and helpful whilst others can be a bit rude. As a man I can often detect a slightly misandrist vibe in the shop. If you are human and forget to bring a bag, don’t even think of asking for a plastic bag; you’ll be held responsible for causing the ice caps to melt. p. s. something positive is that they sell Palastinian Organic olive oil.

Health food shop with a restaurant above with some ill informed, but friendly staff. This place is very right on. It has a large range of goods for their customers but when you ask for specific information they are ill informed. I have found some very strange and way out ideas and concepts there, with an everything goes sort of attitude. Nothing is critically looked at. With what seems like any wacky idea given respect.

Good veggie food, Nice restaurant, Terrible staff attitidue. Had a lovely lunch until my boyfriend discovered a bit of plastic in his salad. I really don’t like complaining, but thought I should try to save any embarassment by talking in a private area to the waitress who was very accommodating. She brought the chef out who was entirely unhelpful and accused us of placing the plastic in the food ourselves, causing us embarrasment. There was no apology or offer of re-imbursement. Such a shame as there aren’t many veggie friendly places in Penzance

Reviewing the café, which is upstairs. Lovely, tasty, vegetarian food. I love the homity pie which is served with a tasty mixture of salads — very filling. The freshly squeezed fruit juices and smoothies are a refreshing change to coffee which is also good. The café itself is nothing fancy but is clean, with friendly staff. Reveiw of shop, downstairs: Small shop which is crammed full of healthfoods, wholefoods and green products eg. toothpastes, shower gels and shampoos, ecover products etc. without parabens and other harmful additives. A better alternative to Holland & Barrett.

If you’re a veggie and like good wholesome food, this place must be on your regular eating list. The café is a tad basic and is above a busy health food shop but the food is well worth seeking out. The home made homous is my fav.
