The best place to go for uniform, p. e kit and other essential school wear for both the primary and secondary schools of Penarth. With incredibly helpful and experienced staff, parents will have no trouble finding exactly what they need for both male and female children. The shop is extremely well stocked, which means most desired goods will be ready for purchase immediately. However, if a particular style or size happens to be unavailable, orders are made and are promptly available for collection.
The prices are reasonable, although with this shop holding almost monopoly power of the sale of local school uniform, some might argue there isn’t much scope for comparison. However, the generic trousers and skirts on sale compare favorably in price to places like Marks and Spencers. Also stocked are garments for cubs, scouts, brownies and other local clubs. Very useful shop for the residents of Penarth.

I’ve never been in a shop like this before — the one year I went to Catholic school, we bought uniforms from a local retailer and had an embroiderer stitch on the name. It didn’t really feel like back-​to-​school shopping with an uninspiring process like that.
Anyway, J M Textiles offers everything your kids would need to start off a new school year: polo shirts, hoodies, fleeces, skirts and sportswear.
This shop boasts that it’s the «school wear specialists», but until I have a rugrat, I guess I’ll never know for sure. Patriotism is rampant here, with a massive Welsh flag hanging up in the middle of the shop floor and signs for local schools posted everywhere.
Note to bargain hunters: big sale going on now, with many items 50% off or buy one, get one 50% off.

Known for supplying all of the school uniforms within the Vale, this shop has been a go to place for most of my life.
I can’t walk past without pointing and squealing «That’s my school uniform» at whatever bewildered companion I’m with. Luckily I’ve not started doing it to strangers on the street, but give it time…
I recently wanted a ‘brownies’ t-​shirt (I’m classy) and though the woman was bewildered as to why I’d want one in my (adult) size she ordered me one for fat children which I picked up a few days later.
Very efficient and helpful.
